CONCIERTO DIURNO

Women breaking dishes, excited. Women trying to generate the greater noise possible. An exquisite polyphonie.

To document an action, to break dishes in another latitude. For this video performance I invited a group of women to make an apparent choreography, a violent action and to registers it. The challenge consisted of making a dialog between three screens and three sources of sound, the actions and the regards of the women, between each other and the spectator, the point of view of which is watching and the sounds to create a rupture concert.

Integrated by three projections of video, each one with its own audio, in which three women break dishes, "CONCIERTO DIURNO " is part of a series called "Domestic", and in addition it is the continuation of a work made in Germany in 2004 with adolescents of 18 years, that workshops included, photos and the publication of a book.

"It's interesting to me to work with a very different generation. They have other vindications, other fatigue, other desires. To break dishes is very significative.

In "CONCIERTO DIURNO ", like in other productions, they are very present thematic like requesting the word, making noise, to be made notice, to say STOP, the satiety, the submission, the liberation. The name of the work has to do with the luminance atmosphere, white, where the women were. An intimate diurnal concert where each space is occupied by a woman, does not share and each one of them has its place. Our space of navigation, where we cross, we walked, we are, we shared, is dark, but the one of them not ".

"I asked the women what meant to break plates and they said very interesting. None were broken plates before in its life, never none of them had thrown nothing to break, nor with quarrel at least. Many of them spoke of the subject of the action, others were touched and all that is very valid ".
